Annual Well Woman Exams

Annual exams should begin by age 21. They include evaluation of overall health and wellbeing, as well as age specific cancer screening. These exams typically include a breast and pelvic exam as well as general physical exam.

Deerwood conveniently offers full obstetric care with in-house ultrasound and laboratory services.  Our doctors and nurses strive to provide excellent care and offer 24-hour access to a provider on our team. 

PCOS

Polycystic ovarian syndrome can be a confusing diagnosis for patients, and at times can be miss diagnosed. The physicians at Deerwood offer full assessment of symptoms and labs to ensure patients receive accurate diagnosis and have full understanding of their treatment options.

Our team is prepared and trained to handle abnormal pap smear results.  We offer in-office colposcopy and LEEP procedures.

Women may experience a variety of complications associated with their periods.  At Deerwood we offer a variety of treatment options including in-office procedures.

Menopausal Symptom Treatments

Menopausal symptoms affect every woman differently, and management of these symptoms should be individualized based on the severity and your other medical conditions.

Pre-conceptual Counseling

We offer pre-conceptual counseling including medical assessment, medication review and genetric testing when desired.

Screenings for

Gynecologic Infections

A variety of infections may affect the genital tract and can be tested for. They range from an overgrowth of normal bacteria that colonizes in the genital tract to sexually transmitted infections.

Urinary Incontinence Treatments

Urinary incontinence is a common complication in women of all ages. Treatments include kegel exercises, surgery, pessary, oral medications, and pelvic floor physical therapy.

Ultrasound

Deerwood offers diagnostic ultrasound in-house for both obstetrics and gynecology.

Surgical Procedures

Surgeries are preformed at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Campus. Surgeries are typically scheduled on Thursday mornings. In addition, the practice offers a variety of inhouse minor surgical procedures.

High Risk Pregnancy

Our physicians are well versed in managing high risk pregnancies and offer in-house antenatal fetal surveillance.  We partner with Baylor Scott & White as needed for NICU services and Maternal Fetal Medicine. 

Cesarean Delivery

Our physicians strive to maintain a low cesarean section rate.  However, there are a variety of reasons this may be a required route of delivery and our physicians work hard to make this experience as comfortable as possible.

Vaginal Birth after Cesarean Section – VBAC

Many women desire to have a vaginal birth after previously requiring a caesarean section.  When safe, Deerwood supports a woman’s decision to undergo trial of labor after cesarean.

Postpartum Depression

Women are at risk for postpartum depression for up to 1 year following delivery. More than 10% of women experience some sort of depression in the months following birth.
